Overview

Bromobimane is a fluorescent probe that readily reacts with low molecular weight and protein thiols. It is almost non-fluorescent until it is conjugated to thiol. The reagent is particularly useful for quantifying glutathione.
Thiol-reactive fluorescent probe

Application:

Bromodimethamine is used for the determination of mercaptan by high performance liquid chromatography and is suitable for the fluorescence determination of 2, 3-dimercaptopropane-1-sulfonic acid and other dimercaptan. Bromodimethamine has been used as a fluorescent label for the study of oligomycin sensitive ATPase in bovine heart mitochondria
