Overview

Chloromethyl pivalate reacts with sodium salt of sulbactam to yield sulbactam pivoxil. It undergoes acylation reaction with 9-(2-phosphonylmethoxyethyl)adenine (PMEA) to yield bis(pivaloyloxymethyl) PMEA.
