Overview
This kit employs an NADPH‑coupled colorimetric method for the rapid determination of cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD) activity. CAD catalyzes the oxidation of cinnamyl alcohol to cinnamaldehyde and NADPH. The generated NADPH reacts with a chromogenic reagent to form a colored product. By measuring the rate of formation of this product, which is proportional to the enzyme activity, the CAD activity in the sample can be quantified. CAD is a key enzyme in lignin biosynthesis and plays an important role in plant stress physiology.
