How is a Lewis acid used in Friedel Crafts acylation?
The Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction is one of the most common reactions for the preparation of aryl ketones from aromatic compounds. Under the conditions of using corresponding chemical equivalents of Lewis acid, a complex can be formed between aryl ketones and Lewis acid.
