This Ruthenium Red staining solution is suitable for the staining of plant tissue sections infected with diseases and pests. It specifically stains pectin and mucilage substances in plant cell walls, resulting in red staining of healthy plant cell walls, while fungal hyphae and spores remain unstained. This forms a clear contrast and facilitates the observation of pathogen infection sites.
This reagent is for research use only and not intended for clinical diagnosis, treatment, or other purposes.
Protocol (For Reference Only)
1. Place the prepared sections in Ruthenium Red staining solution and incubate for 1–3 minutes.
2. For samples that are difficult to stain, the staining time may be extended appropriately.
