Overview
Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism and is excreted into urine via renal filtration. Since many kidney diseases can affect uric acid levels, its measurement plays a significant role in diagnosing and assessing renal diseases.
This kit utilizes uricase to specifically act on uric acid. The oxidized products react with a chromogenic agent to produce a (pink-)red color, and this colored substance exhibits a maximum absorption peak at 520 nm, allowing for the calculation of uric acid content.
