GRADE & PURITY Bioactive ? Bioactive grade — verified to retain biological activity in functional assays. Use when the molecule must be functionally active, not just pure. Recombinant ? Recombinant — produced via recombinant expression for defined sequence and consistency. Use for reproducible, animal-free proteins of known origin. ActiBioPure™ ? ActiBioPure™ — Aladdin's premier line for bioactive and recombinant products. Use when both high purity and preserved biological activity are required. High Performance ? High-performance grade with optimized purity and performance characteristics. Use for sensitive analyses where ordinary grades fall short. EnzymoPure™ ? EnzymoPure™ — Aladdin's line of high-quality enzymatic solutions. Use when enzyme purity and defined activity drive assay or process performance. ≥90%(SDS-PAGE) expressed in E.coli;≥2U/mg protein; Protein concentration: See COA

Overview

α-1,4-Galactosyltransferase (LgtC), EC 2.4.1.228.The enzyme gene is derived from Neisseria meningitidis. It catalyzes the transfer of galactose onto glycan chains with galactose at the non‑reducing end. This product is recombinantly expressed in Escherichia coli, featuring high purity and high activity.

Reaction Equation

UDP‑Gal + β1‑4GalβGlcOR → α1‑4Galβ1‑4GalβGlcOR + UDP

Usage Instructions

Add substrates to the reaction system, along with 5 mM MgCl₂ and 1 mM DTT. Appropriate buffer salts (e.g., Tris‑HCl) may be supplemented to adjust the pH to 7.5, followed by addition of an appropriate amount of LgtC according to reaction requirements.

After mixing, incubate the sample at 37 °C for 2–4 hours.

Notes

For scaled‑up reactions, incubation time or enzyme dosage should be adjusted accordingly; low‑speed shaking is recommended for mixing.

Most common biological buffers (e.g., Tris or PBS) are suitable. Buffers outside this pH range (e.g., acetate buffer) may also be applicable, yet incubation time or enzyme dosage needs optimization based on practical conditions.

Precautions

For your safety and health, wear a lab coat and disposable gloves during operation. This product is for research use only.
