Overview

It is used for the counterselection of TRP1. It is a commonly used genetic marker in the yeast Saccharoyces Cerevisiae. An antimetabolite for the tryptophan pathway in yeast, and is toxic via its antimetabolite conversion to 5-Fluorotryptophan.
