Betaine is an alkaline substance with a CAS number of 107-43-7 and a molecular weight of 117.15. In PCR reactions, betaine effectively prevents the loss of Taq DNA polymerase activity during high-temperature denaturation.

Betaine Solution (5 mol/L, PCR Grade) is specifically optimized for PCR reactions. Its main functions include:

• Suitable for PCR amplification of GC-rich templates.
• Reduces the dependence of denaturation temperature on base composition.
• Enhances the stability of Taq DNA polymerase.

Procedure

Add Betaine Solution (5 mol/L, PCR Grade) to the PCR reaction system. Its working concentration is typically 1–2 mol/L.
