Biochemical mechanism
Sauvagine helps to liberate ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) from the pituitary cells of rat. It has several important functions in the cardiovascular, endocrine and renal systems.
A peptide related to CRF and urotensin 1 that was first isolated from the skin of the frog Phyllomedusasauvagei. Potent releaser of ACTH and β-endorphin from the anterior pituitary.
