Potassium oxalate can bind with calcium ions in the blood to form chelates, thereby preventing blood coagulation. The combined use of potassium oxalate and sodium fluoride not only acts as an anticoagulant but also inhibits glucose breakdown.
The Sterile Potassium Oxalate-Sodium Fluoride Anticoagulant is prepared from potassium oxalate, sodium fluoride, deionized water, and other components, and undergoes sterile treatment. It is particularly suitable for anticoagulation of blood used in glucose testing. This reagent is intended for research purposes only and is not suitable for clinical diagnosis or other uses.
Operating Procedure (for reference only)
1. Perform the procedure according to the specific experimental requirements.
2. Generally, it should be used after dilution at a ratio of 1:20 to 1:30. That is, 0.1 mL of the potassium oxalate-sodium fluoride anticoagulant (sterile) can anticoagulate 2–3 mL of blood.
Precautions
1. Maintain aseptic techniques to avoid microbial contamination.
2. After opening the reagent, use it as soon as possible to prevent affecting subsequent experimental results.
3. For your safety and health, please wear a lab coat and disposable gloves during operation.
