Fast Green FCF, also known as Fast Green FCF or Quick Green, has the molecular formula C₃₇H₃₄N₂O₁₀S₃Na₂, a molecular weight of 808.85, and CAS number 2353-45-9. Fast Green is an acidic dye capable of staining cellulose-containing tissues with cytoplasm. It is widely used in the staining of cells and plant tissues, making it one of the most commonly used dyes in plant histology. It is often combined with Safranin O for cartilage staining. The principle is based on the binding of cationic dyes to the anionic groups in mucopolysaccharides. Acidophilic bone combines with the acidic dye Fast Green, appearing green or blue, creating a sharp contrast with the red-stained cartilage and thus distinguishing cartilage tissue from bone tissue. This reagent is also used for staining plant specimens.
Instructions for Use
Perform operations according to specific experimental requirements or refer to the procedures of S774208 Safranin O-Fast Green Staining Kit or I774551 Modified Safranin O-Fast Green Cartilage Staining Solution.
