Overview

The Biotin Antibody Diluentis used for dilution of detection antibodies. In Luminex /Bio-Plex (bead-based flow cytometry) experiments, the general procedure is as follows:
1. The analyte (such as a cytokine) is captured on specifically coded micro spheres.
2. A detection antibody is added. This antibody binds to another epitope of the analyte, forming a "sandwich" complex.
3. Finally, signal amplification and detection are achieved using Streptavidin-Phycoerythrin (Streptavidin-PE).
The Detection Antibody Diluent is used precisely in step 2. It is responsible for diluting the concentrated, typically biotin-labeled detection antibody to its optimal working concentration.
