Overview
This product is a low-extraction PRP separation gel, specially used for the isolation and preparation of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) rich in growth factors. It can effectively protect the activity of growth factors in plasma. This product can be combined with anticoagulants to prepare PRP vacuum blood collection tubes, which are widely used in clinical treatment, tissue repair and regeneration, aesthetic plastic surgery and other fields, providing efficient, clean and stable separation guarantee for PRP preparation.
Main Ingredients
High-molecular polymer, silicon dioxide, etc.
Properties
This product is a yellow transparent colloid with good thixotropy and isolation effect. It is physiologically inert, does not react with blood components or anticoagulants, and does not interfere with the activity of growth factors in PRP.
Specific Gravity
1.065~1.070 g/cm³
Viscosity

Product Performance
Low-extraction Property: This product has an extremely low extraction volume and can stably coexist with salt solutions for a long time. When placed in normal saline (5g/100ml, 23℃) for 48 hours, the pH change does not exceed 0.5. It can effectively avoid contamination of PRP by precipitated substances in the gel, protect the activity of growth factors, and does not interfere with subsequent experiments and clinical applications.
Pyrogen-free: The whole production process is carried out under aseptic conditions, with strict control over raw material performance to ensure the product is pyrogen-free and meets medical-grade standards, guaranteeing the safety of PRP preparation.
Excellent Low-temperature Resistance: After centrifugation of blood samples in 16mm test tubes and freezing at -60℃ for 48 hours, the separation gel layer shows no deformation or precipitation, and the isolation effect remains intact. (Comparative note: Ordinary separation gel is not resistant to low-temperature freezing; the gel layer tends to precipitate after thawing with incomplete isolation. Japan’s Sekisui separation gel also shows obvious bulging after low-temperature freezing.)
No Tube Climbing: No separation gel residue is found on the tube wall of the serum (plasma) layer after centrifugation, avoiding the risk of needle blockage, ensuring smooth PRP sampling and improving operation convenience.
Instructions for Use
This product is mainly used for the preparation of PRP vacuum blood collection tubes and PRP separation. The specific operations are as follows:
Gel Filling Operation: Use a gel filling machine to add this product into test tubes, with a dosage of 0.8~1.0g per tube (generally, the thickness of the inverted gel in the tube should be 4mm-5mm).
Auxiliary Gel Filling: The maximum temperature limit of this product is 80℃. Water bath or other suitable heating methods can be used during gel filling, with the heating temperature controlled at 60-70℃ until the colloid temperature is basically uniform for easier operation.
Blood Collection Tube Preparation:After gel filling, let it stand for more than 24 hours before centrifugation. First, centrifuge at RCF 1200-1500g for 3-5 minutes to remove residual bubbles in the colloid;Second, centrifuge at RCF 1800-2000g for 3-5 minutes to flatten the gel surface; After centrifugation, let it stand for 48 hours until the separation gel structure is stable. Then add anticoagulants such as ACD or sodium citrate, pump vacuum, and perform irradiation sterilization within 24 hours to complete the preparation of PRP vacuum blood collection tubes (the process can be adjusted according to different equipment).
PRP Separation: After sampling, centrifuge at RCF 2000~2500g for 8~10 minutes. Take the plasma 1ml above the separation gel layer, which is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) rich in growth factors.
Irradiation and Heating Requirements: The recommended maximum irradiation dose is no more than 25kGy; if heating is required during use, the recommended temperature is no more than 60℃, and the short-term temperature is no more than 80℃. The colloid will turn yellow after heating, which is a normal reaction of the reducing agent and does not affect product performance or PRP preparation effect.
Precautions
Temperature Range: The recommended operating temperature is -20~+80℃. Viscosity fluctuates with ambient temperature. Gel filling may be difficult when the ambient temperature is below 15℃; water bath heating to 60~70℃ is recommended to reduce viscosity and improve filling efficiency.
Abnormal Gel Filling Treatment: If "stringing" occurs during room-temperature gel filling, properly increase the filling temperature or vibrate to break the gel strands to ensure uniform filling.
Colloid Protection: This product has undergone high-vacuum treatment with almost no air inclusions. Stirring is not recommended during transfer and filling to avoid air mixing, which affects the isolation effect.
Transportation and Storage: After being added to test tubes, the colloid has a flowing distance ≤3mm under vacuum after 60℃ inverted test for more than 20 days, ensuring no abnormality during 60℃ continuous container transportation for 20 days. However, it is recommended that blood collection tubes containing separation gel should not be inverted during long-term transportation to prevent triggering thixotropy and gel flowing.
Hopper Cleaning: Before replacing separation gel from different manufacturers, or reusing hoppers exposed to air for a long time, thoroughly clean them: first scrape off colloid on the hopper surface with a stainless steel shovel, then clean with a brush dipped in solvents such as DMC and D4, and finally wipe with a cloth dipped in solvent; the feeding tube should also be cleaned simultaneously to prevent colloid cross-contamination.
Store in a sealed, light-proof and moisture-proof place, avoid direct sunlight and humid environment to prevent colloid deterioration.
