GRADE & PURITYAnimal Free?Animal-free — produced without animal-derived components to reduce contamination risk. Use in biomanufacturing and culture avoiding animal-origin material.Carrier Free?Carrier-free — supplied without added carrier protein/stabilizer. Use when carriers (e.g. BSA) would interfere with conjugation or sensitive assays.Bioactive?Bioactive grade — verified to retain biological activity in functional assays. Use when the molecule must be functionally active, not just pure.ActiBioPure™?ActiBioPure™ — Aladdin's premier line for bioactive and recombinant products. Use when both high purity and preserved biological activity are required.High Performance?High-performance grade with optimized purity and performance characteristics. Use for sensitive analyses where ordinary grades fall short. His Tag?His tag grade — recombinant protein bearing a His tag for affinity purification/detection. Use to purify, immobilize, or detect the tagged protein.≥95%(SDS-PAGE)

Bioactivity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. When Recombinant Human Cerebellin-1 is coated at 5 μg/mL, biotinylated recombinant rat NRXN-1 beta binds with an apparent KD < 0.5 nM. Measured by its ability to enhance neurite outgrowth of E16-E18 rat embryonic cortical neurons. Recombinant Human Cerebellin-1, immobilized at 3-30 μg/mL, is able to significantly enhance neurite outgrowth.

Overview
Function Required for synapse integrity and synaptic plasticity. During cerebellar synapse formation, essential for the formation and maintenance of parallel fiber and Purkinje cell synapses. When parallel fibers make contact with Purkinje spines, CBLN1 interaction with GRID2 triggers the recruitment of NRXN1 and secretory vesicles to the sites of contact. NRXN1-CBLN1-GRID2 signaling induces presynaptic morphological changes, which may further accumulate pre- and postsynaptic components to promote bidirectional maturation of parallel fiber - Purkinje cell functionnally active synapses by a positive feedback mechanism. Required for CBLN3 export from the endoplasmic reticulum and secretion. The cerebellin peptide exerts neuromodulatory functions. Directly stimulates norepinephrine release via the adenylate cyclase/PKA-dependent signaling pathway; and indirectly enhances adrenocortical secretion in vivo, through a paracrine mechanism involving medullary catecholamine release.

Recombinant Human Cerebellin-1 Protein (rp167360) - SDS-PAGE 2 μg/lane of Recombinant Human Cerebellin-1 Protein was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (R) and non-reducing (N) conditions and visualized by Coomassie® Blue staining, showing the band at 40 - 50 & 100 - 125 kDa. The structural hallmark of Cerebellin-1 is its triple disulfide-bonded hexameric topology, characterized by a trimer-trimer interface locked via N-terminal Cys²⁷ residues. This architecture enables bivalent receptor binding to orchestrate synaptic organization, establishing Cbln1 as a paradigm of disulfide-mediated higher-order assembly within the C1q/TNF superfamily (PubMed:27418511).
