Overview
Ammonia is mainly derived from protein catabolism, and both microbial activity and liver diseases can significantly affect ammonia levels in the body. This kit is based on the Berthelot colorimetric principle, in which ammonia reacts with hypochlorite and phenol under alkaline conditions to form a stable indophenol blue dye (λmax = 630 nm). By measuring the absorbance and referencing a standard curve, the ammonia content in the sample can be rapidly and accurately quantified.
