Overview
Nitric oxide (NO) is an important gaseous signaling molecule widely distributed in various body systems, which is readily oxidized to nitrite (NO₂⁻) in aqueous solution. This kit uses the Griess method for detection: nitrite generated from NO oxidation reacts with Griess reagent to form a magenta azo compound with a characteristic absorption peak at 520–560 nm. The NO content can be indirectly quantified by measuring absorbance. The product has a detection limit as low as 1 μM, with no obvious interference from phenol red and 10% serum. It is suitable for testing cell/tissue samples and their culture media, serum, plasma, urine and other specimens. This reagent is for research use only and not intended for clinical diagnosis.
