Overview
For the determination of dehydrogenase activity in plant roots, the traditional TTC method suffers from cumbersome operation and low sensitivity due to the water‑insolubility of its product formazan. This kit employs a modified water‑soluble tetrazolium salt as a hydrogen acceptor. The formazan reduced from this salt is readily soluble in water, allowing for the quantitative determination of dehydrogenase activity simply by measuring the absorbance at 460 nm. This method is characterized by convenient operation and high sensitivity.
