Overview

  Puromycin (PM) is a protein synthesis inhibitor with a CAS number of 53-79-2. It has a structure similar to the terminal end of tRNA molecules, which enables it to bind to amino acids, replace aminoacylated tRNA to bind to the A-site of ribosomes, and be incorporated into the growing peptide chain. Although puromycin can bind to the A-site, it cannot participate in any subsequent reactions, thus terminating protein synthesis and releasing immature polypeptides containing puromycin at the C-terminus. Puromycin dihydrochloride is an aminonucleoside antibiotic produced by the fermentation of Streptomyces alboniger. As a stable hydrochloride form of puromycin, it is often referred to as puromycin hydrochloride, with a CAS number of 58-58-2.
  Puromycin Hydrochloride Solution (1 mg/mL) is formulated with high-purity raw materials and methanol. If necessary, it should be filtered through an organic filter membrane before being used for cell culture. Its molar concentration is 1.84 mmol/L, and the general working concentration ranges from 10 to 100 μmol/L. This product is for research use only (RUO) and is not intended for clinical diagnosis or any other applications.
Operating Procedures (For Reference Only)
1. Operate in accordance with specific experimental requirements.
2. Taking a working concentration of 100 μmol/L as an example, add 544 μL of  Puromycin Hydrochloride Solution (1 mg/mL) to every 10 mL of culture medium.
