GRADE & PURITYBioReagent?BioReagent grade — tested suitable for life-science and molecular-biology use. Use for cell culture, assays, and biochemical work needing biological compatibility.Native?Native grade — protein/biomolecule in its natural (non-recombinant, non-denatured) form. Use when native structure and activity are required.
BioReagent, Native BioReagent,Native for sensitive chromatographic and analytical workflows requiring minimal baseline interference.

Overview
Sambucus nigra lectin, isolated from elderberry bark, binds preferentially to sialic acid attached to terminal galactose in α-2,6 and to a lesser degree, α-2,3 linkage. Binding is also inhibited to some extent by lactose or galactose. This lectin appears to bind sialic acid linked to Nacetylgalactosamine or galactose. SNA has been reported to inhibit cell-free protein synthesis.
