Overview

Soil proteases participate in the transformation of amino acids, proteins, and other organic nitrogen-containing compounds in the soil. Their hydrolysis products serve as a nitrogen source for higher plants. S-ALPT (Soil Alkaline Protease) catalyzes the hydrolysis of proteins under alkaline conditions and is associated with soil organic matter content, nitrogen levels, and other soil properties. This assay kit provides a simple, convenient, and rapid method for detecting S-ALPT activity in soil samples. The detection principle is based on the reduction of phosphomolybdic acid compounds by tyrosine under alkaline conditions to form tungsten blue, which has a characteristic absorption peak at 680 nm.
