Overview
Sulfur is an essential constituent element of sulfur-containing amino acids and proteins, directly participating in the growth and development of crops and affecting their quality. Soil sulfur primarily originates from parent materials, irrigation water, atmospheric dry and wet deposition, and fertilization, playing a vital role in agriculture, forestry, and animal husbandry. Therefore, determining the available sulfur content in soil and applying sulfur fertilizers rationally is crucial for improving crop yield and quality. This product is suitable for detecting soil samples. In this assay kit, the sulfur extracted from the soil exists mainly in the form of SO₄²⁻. In an acidic medium, SO₄²⁻ reacts with Ba²⁺ to form a white precipitate of BaSO₄, which has very low solubility. The available sulfur content in the soil is determined using the barium sulfate turbidimetry method.
