Virus preservation solution is mainly used for the preservation of samples for tissue and cytopathological analysis. It is applicable not only to coronaviruses, influenza viruses, hand-foot-and-mouth disease viruses, measles and rubella viruses, but also to other types of viruses, mycoplasmas and ureaplasmas. It can maintain the integrity of viral nucleic acids during storage and transportation.
Virus preservation solution contains pH buffers, osmotic pressure maintainers, antibiotics and other components, which can preserve the integrity of cells or viruses. After collecting representative viruses and preserving them in the virus preservation solution, nucleic acid (RNA/DNA) can be extracted. When nasal and pharyngeal swabs are placed in the virus preservation solution, its unique components can protect RNA from degradation by RNases and DNA from degradation by DNases. The combined use of multiple antibiotics and preservatives endows the product with strong antibacterial and antifungal effects. After virus sample collection, it can maintain the activity of the virus sample and extend the survival time of the virus in the sample. This product is for research use only and is not suitable for clinical diagnosis or other purposes.
Operating Procedures (For Reference Only):
1. For different purposes, collect virus samples from the corresponding sites using sampling swabs or other tools.
2. Samples placed in the virus preservation solution can be stored and transported at 2–8°C for a short period (no more than 48 hours).
Precautions:
1. When handling nasal discharge or sputum specimens, ensure thorough dilution and mixing.
2. Collected specimens must be fresh to prevent cell autolysis.
3. This reagent is slightly irritating to the eyes and skin. If it accidentally splashes into the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water. Operate in a well-ventilated environment.
4. This product is for research use only and is not suitable for clinical diagnosis or other applications.
5. For your safety and health, please wear a lab coat and disposable gloves during operation.
