Función de la proteína:
GTPasa multifuncional implicada en una variedad de procesos celulares incluyendo expresión génica, migración celular, proliferación celular, transformación oncogénica y tráfico de membrana. Lleva a cabo sus múltiples funciones mediante la interacción con distintos efectores aguas abajo. Actúa como sensor de GTP para la exocitosis dependiente de GTP de vesículas de núcleo denso. Se necesita tanto para estabilizar el ensamblaje del complejo de exocistos como para localizar complejos de exocistos funcionales en el borde anterior de las células en migración. Interviene en las últimas fases de la citocinesis y es necesaria para la abscisión del puente que une las células hermanas que salen de la mitosis. Es necesaria para la supresión de la apoptosis.

IHC analysis of human testis tissue by RALB Mouse mAb (Ab124480).
IHC was performed using sections of the formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human testis tissue. Antigen was retrieved through addition of boiling Tris/EDTA buffer pH 9.0 in a pressure cooker for 3 min. Endogenous peroxidase activity was quenched by incubating the sections with 3% H2O2 for 30 min at room temperature. The sections were then incubated with RALB Mouse mAb (Ab124480) at 0.5 µg/mL at room temperature for 1 h. Poly-peroxidase conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG was used as the secondary antibody. Diaminobenzidine was used as the chromogen. The section was counterstained with hematoxylin. A tissue section incubated with phosphate-buffered saline followed by incubation with the secondary antibody was used as the background control.
Result: Cells in seminiferous ducts are positively stained at the cytoplasm membrane.
