Overview

High purity recombinant phosphotransacetylase (Bacillus subtilis) for use in research, biochemical enzyme assays and analytical testing applications. 

Specificity: 

Catalyses the reaction: Coenzyme A + acetyl phosphate = acetyl-CoA + phosphate

Temperature Optima: 25°C

pH Optima: 7.4

Application examples: Applications for the measurement of acetic acid in the food, fermentation, wine, beverage and dairy industries.

PROPERTIES 

1. ELECTROPHORETIC PURITY: 

- Single band on SDS-gel electrophoresis (MW ~ 36,953) 

- Single major band on isoelectric focusing (pI ~ 5.3) 

2. PHYSICOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES: Recommended conditions of use are at pH 7.4 and up to 25°C. 

3. STORAGE AND USE CONDITIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS: The enzyme is supplied as an ammonium sulphate suspension containing 0.5 mg/mL BSA and should be stored at 4°C. For assay, this enzyme should be diluted in 100 mM Tris.HCl buffer, pH 7.4 containing 1 mg/mL BSA. Swirl to mix the enzyme suspension immediately prior to use.
