Overview

Effect of soda lime on the degradation of sevoflurane has been studied. Degradation products were investigated for their toxicity. Soda lime is a mixture of calcium hydroxide with sodium or potassium hydroxide. When not stored in sealed containers, it quickly deteriorates due to carbon dioxide and water absorption. In laboratories, it is also used as a drying agent.
