Mito-TEMPO is a mitochondria-targeted antioxidant that helps protect against oxidative damage to the mitochondria. It has superoxide and alkyl radical scavenging properties. Mito-TEMPO has been shown to facilitate in the release of proapoptotic proteins from the mitochondria, attenuating ATP-depletion recovery-mediated necrosis and apoptosis.
