Ristocetin A is an antibiotic that belongs to the class III glycopeptides. The compound has activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and can be used in chromatography. Ristocetin A is structurally related to the glycopeptide antibiotics Teicoplanin and vancomycin. Additionally, Ristocetin A has platelet aggregating activity and has been used in platelet aggregation studies. Studies have demonstrated that Ristocentin A dimerizes and creates two binding sites for cell wall peptides. We supply the Ristocetin A sulfate form.
