It participates in Cadiot-Chodkiewicz cross-coupling reaction with various bromoalkynes to afford synthetically useful unsymmetrical diynes. (tert-Butyldimethylsilyl)acetylene readily undergoes cross-dimerization reaction with various internal phenyl acetylenes in the presence of rhodium dimers and bidentate phosphine ligands to afford enynes.
