Effect of gentiana on egg white-induced foot swelling in rats

Summary

Injection of egg white heterogeneous protein into the foot of rats induced an acute analogous condition, causing local tissue swelling. The anti-inflammatory effect of Gentiana scabra was observed by measuring the circumferential changes in the plantar and ankle joints of the foot of rats before and after the experiment. The anti-inflammatory active ingredients of Gentiana scabra are mainly alkaloids such as Gentiana alkaloids A.
