Overview
Glucose oxidase (GOD, EC 1.1.3.4) is an oxidoreductase commonly found in various microorganisms. It catalyzes the reaction between glucose and oxygen to produce gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide then reacts with a specific chromogenic substrate to generate a (pink-)red product, which exhibits a maximum absorption peak at 510 nm. The enzyme activity of glucose oxidase is determined based on this reaction.
