Can tumor tissue cuts be stored for a long time after fixation in 4% paraformaldehyde fixative at room temperature?

Typically, after fixation in 4% paraformaldehyde, tumor tissue sections can be stored at room temperature for several weeks to months. For long-term storage, it is better practice to transfer the fixed tissue samples to a liquid containing a buffer such as PBS and store them in a refrigerator at 4 degrees Celsius to ensure their stability and suitability.
