Principle
Conjunctival sucking nematodes parasitize the conjunctival sacs and lacrimal ducts of dogs and cats and occasionally invade humans. The intermediate host may be flies. Larval development in flies is not fully understood. Move Adult slide specimen: milky white, pointed and thin at both ends,, distinct oral vesicle visible at the head end, with internal and external papillae rings. Body cuticle folded into many transverse stripes. Edges are serrated, males 7 to 13 × 0.275-0.750 mm, tail end curled, intersecting spines in pairs, length and shape vary. Females 12 to 17 × 0.5 to 0.8 mm, pubic valve at the anterior end of the body, located after the level of the transverse line in the esophagus.
