Operation method
Morphological Observation Experiment of Heterorhabditis elegans Move I. Morphology For more product details, please visit Aladdin Scientific website.
1. Adult Long pear-shaped, size 1~1.7×0.3-0.4 mm, oral sucker is smaller than the abdominal sucker, the genital sucker is located in the lower left of the abdominal sucker. Testes 2, located on the inner side of the end of the intestinal branch. The seminal vesicles are curved, and the ovaries are located immediately before the testes in the egg mold. Uterus very long, curved and coiled, passes forward into the genital sucker.
2. Eggs Size 28-30×15-17 um, brownish yellow, with egg caps.
II. Life history
Including trichomes, cysts, larvae (1-2 generations), caecilians and cystic larvae. Adults parasitize the intestinal tubes of birds and mammals. The first intermediate host in China is freshwater snails; the second intermediate host is freshwater fish, and occasionally frogs.
Pathogenesis and diagnosis
The adult worms are very small and can burrow into the intestinal wall when parasitizing in the intestinal canal, so the worms and eggs may reach other organs through the bloodstream. Severe gastrointestinal infections may result in lethargy and gastrointestinal symptoms. The morphology is similar to that of Schistosoma huajiensis eggs, which is difficult to identify, and the adult worms are mainly used to identify the species.
