What does PCR Reagent mean? +

PCR Reagent indicates that the product has been processed and tested for PCR, sequencing and nucleic acid amplification. Typical specifications include low or undetectable nuclease/protease activity, low endotoxin, controlled microbial limits and high lot-to-lot reproducibility.

Is PCR Reagent certified DNase / RNase / protease free? +

Many molecular biology grades include nuclease activity testing. The exact tests and limits are listed on the Certificate of Analysis. For applications sensitive to nuclease contamination (qPCR, NGS library prep, mRNA work), prefer grades explicitly labeled DNase free, RNase free or Protease Free.

Can I use PCR Reagent for sensitive workflows like qPCR or NGS? +

Yes, where the product is qualified for the workflow. For PCR / qPCR, look for For PCR or PCR Reagent grade. For NGS sample prep, prefer molecular biology, RNase free or BioReagent grade — and verify lot QC data.

How does PCR Reagent differ from analytical reagent grades? +
