GRADE & PURITY Bioactive ? Bioactive grade — verified to retain biological activity in functional assays. Use when the molecule must be functionally active, not just pure. Native ? Native grade — protein/biomolecule in its natural (non-recombinant, non-denatured) form. Use when native structure and activity are required. Lyophilized powder ? Lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder — gently dried to preserve activity and aid storage. Use for sensitive biologics reconstituted before use. EnzymoPure™ ? EnzymoPure™ — Aladdin's line of high-quality enzymatic solutions. Use when enzyme purity and defined activity drive assay or process performance. ≥95%(SDS-PAGE) ≥120 U/mg protein; Pre-lyophilization Protein Concentration: See COA

Overview

Found at 12 mg per 100 ml normal plasma. It is the precursor of the serine protease plasmin which s involved in fibrinolysis.

Extinction Coefficient: 1.71

Prepared from plasma shown to be non reactive for HBsAg, anti-HCV, anti-HBc, and negative for anti-HIV 1 & 2 by FDA-required tests.

The activity of this product is evaluated using a TAME (N-tosyl-L-arginine methyl ester) esterolytic activity assay. Briefly, plasminogen is activated with streptokinase and incubated in 0.1 M Tris buffer (pH 8.0) with the TAME substrate. The reaction mixture is incubated at 37 °C for 15 minutes, and absorbance is measured at 510 nm using a spectrophotometer. The resulting values are plotted linearly to determine the specific activity (U/mg).

One unit of activity is defined as the amount of enzyme that hydrolyzes 1 µmole of TAME substrate in 30 minutes at 37 °C, pH 8.0.
