GRADE & PURITYBioactive?Bioactive grade — verified to retain biological activity in functional assays. Use when the molecule must be functionally active, not just pure.Native?Native grade — protein/biomolecule in its natural (non-recombinant, non-denatured) form. Use when native structure and activity are required.EnzymoPure™?EnzymoPure™ — Aladdin's line of high-quality enzymatic solutions. Use when enzyme purity and defined activity drive assay or process performance.Lyophilized powder?Lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder — gently dried to preserve activity and aid storage. Use for sensitive biologics reconstituted before use.from Porcine Heart; ≥300 U/mg enzyme powder; Protein Content ≥0.7mg protein/mg solid (see COA for assay result)

Overview
Creatine phosphokinase (CPK) is widely distributed and is primarily involved with ATP regeneration in conjunction with the contractile and transport systems. The enzyme is dimeric and exists in three isoenzyme forms: MM (muscle), MB (heart) and BB (brain). The hybrid isoenzyme (MB) has the highest concentration in the heart muscle. Therefore, determination of the serum CPK level of this isoenzyme has been used as a sensitive index for the diagnosis of myocardial infarction. Elevated levels of the BB isoenzyme of CPK have been reported in the serum of patients immediately following cardiac surgery. The CPK-BB levels in serum returned to normal by the fourth post-operative day. This may be a more sensitive diagnostic tool than the serum levels of CPK-MB isoenzyme in cardiac patients.

Biochemical and Physiological Mechanisms
Reversibly catalyzes the transfer of phosphate between ATP and various phosphogens (e.g. creatine phosphate). Creatine kinase isoenzymes play a central role in energy transduction in tissues with large, fluctuating energy demands, such as skeletal muscle,
