The truncated isoforms are detected as distinct bands on the western blot lysate from the left ventricle of non-failing human heart tissue . In addition to 43 kDa full length isoform, the largest 3 isoforms (32 kDa, 29 kDa and 26 kDa in size) contain 2 transmembrane domains, part of intracellular loop, and the C-terminus. The smallest 3 isoforms are 20 kDa, 11 kDa, and 7 kDa in size and include part of the C-terminal tail with the 20 kDa isoform also containing part of the last transmembrane domain (PMID: 28576298).
