Protein Function

In cooperation with other chaperones, Hsp70s stabilize preexistent proteins against aggregation and mediate the folding of newly translated polypeptides in the cytosol as well as within organelles. These chaperones participate in all these processes through their ability to recognize nonnative conformations of other proteins. They bind extended peptide segments with a net hydrophobic character exposed by polypeptides during translation and membrane translocation, or following stress-induced damage.

IF analysis of Recombinant HSPA2 Antibody (Ab108960) in HeLa cells. The cells were fixed with 4% PFA for 10 minutes, permeabilized with 0.3% Triton X-100 (I743383) for 10 minutes and then blocked with 5% BSA for 1 hour at room temperature. Cells were stained with Recombinant HSPA2 Antibody (Ab108960) at 1/200 dilution in blocking buffer overnight at 4°C, and then incubated with Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (AF488) (Ab181954) at a dilution of 1/1000 for 1 hour at room temperature in the dark (green). Cells were counterstained with DAPI (D1372407) (blue).
