Overview

This product is a non-freezing blood DNA preservation solution that effectively maintains the integrity of DNA in blood. Collected blood samples can be directly placed into this preservation solution, allowing for stable DNA preservation without the need for freezing. Under room temperature conditions, it achieves DNA preservation effects comparable to frozen blood samples. This product greatly facilitates sampling operations, enabling sample collection and preservation at any time, and is also suitable for long-distance transportation of blood samples. It widely meets the sample processing needs in scientific research experiments.

Product Features

  • Easy to Operate: No complex steps are required; simply mix the blood sample with this product in the specified ratio to complete the preservation process.

  • Wide Applicability: Compatible with various animal blood samples, offering strong adaptability.

  • Long Preservation Time: Under conditions of 4–25°C, DNA in blood can be stably preserved for up to six months, making it especially suitable for sample collection in scenarios such as fieldwork where low-temperature conditions are unavailable.

  • High DNA Integrity: Preserved blood samples can be used for total DNA extraction, and the extracted DNA can be directly applied to various molecular biology experiments, such as enzyme digestion, electrophoresis, and PCR.

Usage Instructions

  1. For Mammalian Blood (Including Human Blood)

    • Take 1–10 mL of anticoagulated blood and add it to a plastic centrifuge tube of appropriate capacity.

    • Add an equal volume of Blood DNA Preservation Solution to the centrifuge tube and shake thoroughly to ensure even mixing.

    • Store the mixed sample at room temperature in a light-protected environment until further use.

    • DNA Extraction Procedure: Take an aliquot of the preserved mixture, add self-provided Proteinase K (final concentration of 0.1 mg/mL), and incubate overnight at 37°C. Subsequently, use the classic phenol/chloroform extraction and ethanol precipitation method to obtain purified DNA.

  2. For Avian Blood

    • The number of nucleated cells in avian blood is significantly higher than in mammalian blood, so the volume of blood used should only be 1/100 to 1/1000 of that used for mammalian blood.

    • First, dilute the Blood DNA Preservation Solution with an equal volume of water.

    • Add an appropriate amount of avian blood directly to the diluted preservation solution and shake thoroughly to mix evenly.

    • Subsequent preservation and DNA extraction procedures are the same as those for mammalian blood.

Precautions

  1. This reagent is intended for research use only and is strictly prohibited for clinical diagnosis or other non-research purposes.

  2. The preservation solution and blood sample must be thoroughly mixed; otherwise, inadequate DNA preservation may occur in localized areas.

  3. During sample preservation, ensure protection from light to prevent DNA degradation caused by light exposure.
