Tris-EDTA (abbreviated as TE) is a white instant granule. Each bag of TE instant granule can be used to prepare 1 L of 1× TE Buffer, featuring simple and convenient operation. The main components of TE are Tris and EDTA. 1× TE Buffer contains 10 mM Tris-HCl and 1 mM EDTA, with a pH of 8.0 at 25 °C. TE Buffer is generally used as a solvent or preservative, commonly for the storage and dilution of DNA or RNA.
Instructions for Use
1. Measure approximately 600 mL of distilled water into a beaker, and place a magnetic stir bar in the beaker.
2. Place the beaker on a magnetic stirrer. Slowly add the entire contents of one bag of TE instant granule, and stir until completely dissolved.
3. Add distilled water to the TE solution from Step 2 to a final volume of 1 L to obtain 1× TE Buffer.
Note: For RNA and DNA applications using TE Buffer, nuclease-free water is recommended.
