Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. It serves as the universal biological energy currency within cells and plays a vital role in various physiological and pathological processes. Energy charge is a key parameter describing the state of cellular energy metabolism. Determining the ATP content in an organism and calculating its energy charge is of great significance for analyzing the organism's energy metabolic status. The detection principle of this kit is as follows: creatine kinase catalyzes the reaction of creatine and ATP to generate phosphocreatine. Under acidic conditions, phosphocreatine decomposes into creatine and inorganic phosphate. In the presence of a reducing agent, the inorganic phosphate reacts with ammonium molybdate to produce a dark blue molybdenum blue complex. The ATP content in the sample can be calculated by measuring the absorbance of this complex at 700 nm.
