Adenosine receptors

Adenosine receptors are a group of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that are activated by the endogenous ligand adenosine, a purine nucleoside. They are widely distributed throughout the body and play a role in many physiological processes, including sleep, pain, inflammation, cardiovascular function, and neurotransmission.
