Somatostatin receptors

Somatostatin receptors are a family of G protein-coupled receptors that are activated by somatostatin. To date, five somatostatin receptors have been identified in humans: SSTR1, SSTR2, SSTR3, SSTR4, and SSTR5. These receptors are widely expressed in various tissues and organs and play a role in regulating various biological processes such as hormone secretion, neurotransmission, and cell proliferation.
