Cholecystokinin receptors are a class of G protein-coupled receptors that are activated by cholecystokinin (CCK), a peptide hormone that is produced by the small intestine and released into the bloodstream in response to the presence of food . There are two main types of CCK receptors: CCK1 and CCK2.
