Thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptors
Thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptors (TRHRs) are a family of G protein-coupled receptors that are activated by thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH). To date, only one TRHR has been identified in humans: TRHR1. TRHR1 is widely expressed in various tissues and organs, including the anterior pituitary gland, hypothalamus, and pancreas. TRH is a neuropeptide that plays a role in regulating various biological processes such as thyroid hormone secretion, metabolism, and growth.
