Bile acid receptor

Bile acid receptors are a class of nuclear receptors that are activated by bile acids, which are produced by the liver and secreted into the small intestine to aid in the digestion and absorption of dietary fats. There are two main types of bile acid receptors: farnesoid X receptor (FXR) and G protein-coupled bile acid receptor 1 (GPBAR1), also known as TGR5.
