Tachykinin receptors

Tachykinin receptors are a family of G protein-coupled receptors that are activated by tachykinins, which are a group of neuropeptides that include substance P, neurokinin A, and neurokinin B. To date, three tachykinin receptors have been identified in humans: NK1R, NK2R, and NK3R . These receptors are widely expressed in various tissues and organs and play a role in regulating various biological processes such as inflammation, pain perception, and smooth muscle contraction.
